History of Meadowdale & the Board of Directors
Meadowdale’s Declaration of Restrictions (DORs) were recorded in the office of the Recorder of Deeds for New Castle County in December,1986. The DORs were imposed on the parcel of land situated in Mill Creek Hundred, New Castle County, Delaware, known as Meadowdale. The Meadowdale Maintenance Association (MMA) is a nonprofit corporation organized and existing under the laws of the state of Delaware. All persons or entities who are record owners automatically become a “Member” of MMA.
The Association is governed by the MMA Board of Directors. The Board must consist of no less than 5 and no more than 7 Directors, including the Officers: President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The Officers are chosen by a majority vote of the Directors and hold office until the next Annual Meeting. Standing Committees of the Association include: Nominating Committee, Rules Committee, Recreation Committee, Maintenance Committee, Publicity Committee, Architectural Review Committee, Budget Committee and the Audit Committee.
The Board has the power to conduct the affairs of the Association, including proposing the amount of the annual assessment on each lot before March 1 of each year. The DORs may be amended at any time, by an instrument in writing signed by the record owner of two thirds of the lots in Meadowdale (53/80 lots), which must be recorded in the office of the Recorder of Deeds, New Castle County, Delaware.
